The 13th issue of Carcy marks this unique magazine’s 10th anniversary. Founder Stéphane Carcy—a senior creative at Acne Studios—introduces a collection of icons, dear friends, and new talents in his personal universe of photographic invention.
Its large, unbound pages seek to expand our notions of beauty and sensuality, showcasing all genders, identities, and sexualities. Drawing on the history of photography, the shoots are rich and extravagant, edging towards erotica without being explicit.
Featured subjects include America Korban, XOXO XTINA and Vivian Wilson, and there’s a brilliant birthday shoot by Éamonn Zeel Freel starring Victoria Sekrier. Look out, too, for Luke Abby’s portraits of 18 friends of the magazine, accompanying a paeon to the ‘Daddy’ from writer Patrick Thévenin.
Carcy – a reference to undressing and stepping out of societal norms – is a Paris born , large format journal focused on the topic and representation of eroticism. It’s slick, minimalist design and hybrid content seeks to portray all genders , identities and sexualities , in order to sublimate and widen notions of beauty and sensuality .
